Gothic outcast Natalie Sugarman bartered her soul for her dying mother’s life sixteen years ago to a boy demon that could stop time. Now, days before her twenty-first birthday, the lifelines on her palms are slowly vanishing, and she knows it’s just a matter of time before Satan’s little helper collects.

Natalie's tried numerous times to kill the demon and regain control of her soul’s destiny, but she always falls short. When she decides to try and gain the element of surprise for her next attempt, Natalie seeks answers about his location from a freaky, glowing-eyed fortuneteller. Creeped out by the psychic’s methods, she bolts from the reading and misses the warning that the demon who stole her soul is always closer than she thinks.

After some strange incidents with her new boyfriend, including a hot, levitating sex session, she realizes he’s the grown-up version of her little nightmare and he’s returned to collect on their deal. Natalie must figure out how to win her soul back from the demon before her lifeline completely disappears and she becomes his forever—even if that means making a deal to damn three other souls to take her place.

*Demon at My Door is a New Adult Paranormal Romance with very mature scenes*

Suddenly, he turns those gray eyes on me, nearly stealing my breath. I feel my insides turn as I wait for his response to my make-over. A wide smile slowly stretches across his face. He stands to greet me as I step closer. “Hey.”

“Hey,” I say back. I don’t even realize I’m grinning like an idiot until I feel heat flood my cheeks. I avert my gaze from his.

“Nat, honey, why didn't you tell me you had such a handsome friend,”Mom coos, obviously ecstatic a boy is showing interest in me and lingers on the last word a little too long.

I groan. “Mom…”

Rick chuckles and hides his smile behind his hand, but I’m too embarrassed to yell at him right now. He soon settles his amusement and speaks. “Are you ready, Nat?”

Curiosity engulfs my brain, and I instinctively tilt my head. “Ready? Ready, for what?”

He lifts an eyebrow. “Our date, of course.”

Date? What date? Did I overlook the part when I agreed to a date? “I—I didn't—”

“Sweetie, go,” Mom urges. “Have a good time.” She winks at me and leaves us alone in the living room. She’s obviously happy. I've changed my looks and now have a country-club worthy guy interested in me. The button down shirt and pressed khakis Rick’s wearing practically scream money, not to mention the shiny, black sports car parked out in the driveway.

I turn to Rick as soon as I’m sure Mom’s out of earshot. “I don’t remember agreeing to a date with you today.”

He steps toward me. “You didn't have to.”

My eyes narrow. “Pretty sure of yourself, aren't you?”

He takes my hand in his. “Only when it comes to what I want.” A grin spreads across his face. “Come on. Let’s go.”

I peer into his eyes and get lost in the turbulent seas that thrash around in them. Being so close to Rick makes my heart flutter. In the movies, girls always fall for the heroic guy who saves their lives. Is it possible that’s all I’m feeling—a false sensation of intensity because he protected me? I’m still not fully over Stew. How is it possible to feel this pull toward Rick? Ugh. There I go again. If this is going to work—the new me—I need to put Stewart Masterson out of my mind. A date with Rick might be a step in the right direction.

Interlacing our fingers, I smile. “Okay.”

He gives my hand a gentle squeeze and bites his lip, trying to keep his smile from growing wider. “Let’s go.”

We decided to run a giveaway that will encourage our followers to express their love and gratitude to 3 of our favorite authors, one of them is Michelle Valentine

The winning post that we have chosen for Michelle is from Wendy Bree Rex. Apart from the paperback copy of The Rock The Heart, we have given Wendy the opportunity to ask questions to Michelle. Let's check out her interview!

Winner Profile:

My name is Wendy and I have an addiction. To books! I'm a definite book slut and proud of it! I picked up my first romance novel at the age of 12 and haven't put them down. Thanks mom! There are so many amazing authors that I love. Some of my favorite include Julie Garwood, Tara Sivec, Rachel Gibson, Laura Wright, Brei Betzold, Michelle Valentine, CJ Roberts and Jessica Sorensen. I've also become a book boyfriend whore. These authors have got to stop writing about so many fake but damn sexy men! uhhummm...Travis Maddox, Braden Carmichael, Rule Archer, James Cavendish, to name a few. Yes! I am a sucker for those bad boys.

I'm a 28 yr old stay at home wife and mom of four children that love to keep me on my toes. I'll admit to being the worst domesticated wife EVER. Yes, you read that right. I absolutely hate cleaning and would so much rather make the mess with my two year old than have to clean it up. I don't have a ton of free time, but when I do, you'll find me with an actual book in hand or sitting at my computer reading anything I can get my hands on.

I want to thank Cris and Pamela for this opportunity. And, Michelle Valentine for agreeing to this interview. *MUAH* to you all!

Interview Excerpt:

Can you tell me what you think your biggest stepping stone has been in life to get to where you are today? Any inspirations?

I think my biggest stepping stone to get me where I am was reading. Really, just developing a love for the written word and falling in love with characters inspired me to want to create a world of my own for readers to love.

Who are your biggest supporters and how do they support you?

My husband and my parents are by far my biggest supporters. They’ve listened to me for years ramble on about my books that went no where, and they never once discouraged me. By far they are my cheerleaders
and the people I lean on in all facets of my life.

Any strange writing habits that you have?

Talking to myself and doing gestures as I write to try and figure out how best to word an action. I probably look crazy doing that.

I'm curious about your nursing job and how it might have led you to choose this genre of writing. Do you think there's a connection somewhere in there?

I take care of pediatric special needs kids, so I don’t think there’s really a connection there. As far as nursing goes, I just wanted to do something totally different from nursing, and writing romance is about as far from the nursing world as I can get.

Is there a piece of you in any of your female characters? If so, can you tell me which character holds the biggest piece of you and what it is?

There are parts of my personality in each female character I create. I
try to put myself in their situation and have them react as I would.

You write some really hot and intense love scenes. Was writing your first sexual scene difficult for you and how did you know for sure that you got the right emotion with it?

It was very difficult. My face was totally red and I felt like I was doing something really bad and hoped no one came to read over my shoulder. The emotions I write in those scenes are what I believe the character is feeling at that particular time.

As you know, I'm a huge fan of Riff's bad boy persona and can't wait to read Rock My Bed. Is there a "Riff" in your real life that you were inspired by for his character?

I love take charge men, guys who aren't afraid to tell you up front what their intentions are. There’s no real Riff…that one’s is one of a kind.

Can you tell us your dream cast for the band members of black falcon?

There have been several different rockers that inspired the guys in Black Falcon. I like to take different traits from each one to create the perfect guys in my mind.

Any future events or book signings?

I’ll be in Columbus at the Wessin for a book signing April 20th with several other authors for “Columbus Authors Event,” and then there’s Las Vegas August 16-20th for the Naughty Mafia event. There’s also been some talk about heading out to Portland in the fall, but that’s not firm just yet.
Strike the Striker

Sitting on the floor of the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio waiting for the bands to enter is torture! Sitting with the rest of the press I made sure I got a front row seat to see the action. I want to ask Noel about his love life but I know I have to get through Striker and Embrace the Darkness first. I will never understand why rockers “do what they do” when it comes to woman but if the press is right Striker has it out for Noel and Lane and I tend to find out why! Its what sell papers right?

Embrace the Darkness walks in and takes their seats. Striker is no disappointment walking in as if he owns the place. As reporters are yelling I make sure my voice is heard over them and all the plashing cameras…

How’s it going Rocky! How did it feel to get sucker punched by Noel? (I can see he is uncomfortable by this question)

Striker: *Clears throat* Bloody whelp caught me off guard. It won’t happen again. Next question.

As I hear “next question” I yell again…So now that Embrace the Darkness is the official opening act for Black Falcon do you think you can keep it in your pants?

Striker: *Grins and leans into the mic* You’re the first lady to ever say that like it’s a bad thing.

Yelling a follow up…Can’t feel all that great opening for Noel when you want what he has. How you handling that?

Striker: *Looks at his band mates and shakes his head* You’re a pushy one, aren’t you? Let’s set something straight, I’m not jealous of Noel Falcon. If I want what he has, I’ll just take it.

He is getting mad! I yell again. So you are starting a jewelry line? I know where this is heading but I have to bait him.

Striker: *Lifts an eyebrow* Yes.

So the word on the street is that you have recruited Ms. Vance to work the ad campaign? Why?

Striker: *Licks his lips* Ms. Vance has an eye for beauty and I know she’ll do things right by me. She’ll give me all the personal attention to detail that I need.

Over the crowd I find myself yelling again. I get you think she is hot but dude give it up! Don’t you think it is beneath even you to play a game like this?

Striker: *Leans back in the chair* I don’t think I’m playing games. I’ve made it pretty obvious to everyone what I want.

Now we have a back and forth going and all eyes are on us! I continue…With games like this don’t you think that the record label will pull you off the tour?

Striker: *Laughs* Babe, I’m the talent. Labels don’t fuck with the talent.

I hear someone else yell…When is the new album out? I let it slide because I want to know too.

Striker: We’ll be in the studio right after this tour, so hopefully it’ll be out early next year.

I still can’t help it and I have to know. I ask…You know Noel and Lane are back together. You know the rumor is that he is going to ask her to marry him. So why do you keep it up? very one knows that you are interested in more than just a business relationship?

Striker: I don’t believe she’s married yet. Until then, she’s fair game.

I follow up with…There are tons of groupies waiting in the wings? Can you stick with one of them?

Striker: I need a woman of substance…one with a good head on her shoulders as well as beautiful. That’s a rarity in this business. Groupies rarely, if ever, fit that bill.

With that I am asked to leave. Wait not asked more like picked up and carried out but as I go I can’t help but yell one last time. “You’ll never get her!” That makes me smile!

Striker: *Rolls eyes* Bloody hell! Where’d that one come from? She’s a hellcat.

Rock The Band Book Review

"ASK AND THOU SHALL RECEIVE..."

We wanted more of Noel so we got it. Michelle Valentine did not fail us when we asked for it, in fact she has given us so much more. This story is short and sweet but it has everything that I could ask for a novella.

The story is told from Noel's POV and took off exactly where we left in Rock the Heart.

After their reconciliation, Noel has decided to keep Lanie a permanent presence in his life and there is no way that he will let her go. You can totally see his genuine love for Lane, his devotion to make everything right this time and the determination to do anything to keep their relationship last.
“I’m sure because I never want to mess things up with you again. I can’t be without you. The only thing that concerns me now is your happiness. I’m just asking for the chance to be your everything. I need to be your forever.”
Of course, there were a few bumps along the way, but because of Noel and Lane's unconditional love for each other, there was nothing in this world that they can't handle together. I love that the story is not overly complicated but still gives enough drama to get me hooked and turning pages.

Michelle did not fail to give the readers her regular dose of passionate and steamy scenes, something that we have loved in the first book.

“Even though I couldn’t get enough of her body, this crazy chemistry I felt between us stemmed from more than just sex. We had something here.
Love. And it was undeniable.
Every time I thought it wasn’t possible to love her anymore, I found my heart swelling more each second I was around her. “I love you so much that sometimes it hurts.”
But beyond the steamy scenes and romantic lines, what I really loved about the book is that it likewise make readers appreciate important life lessons like forgiveness, trust and the power of true love. Just like Noel and Lanie's story, true love brought many wonderful things in their lives that made their world sparkling and cheerful. The very same reason however did their world dark, bitter and distressful at some point. But as the saying goes, "true love always finds its way"...odd enough, it's only love that gave both Noel and Lanie the cure and the power to endure all hurts and pains it brought into their lives.

This is an easy 5/5 stars for us!
Congratulations Michelle! You did it again!
